Weekend gardening with your family can be a blast! Children enjoy digging in the dirt, smelling the springtime air, sowing some vegetable seeds, fertilizing and picking flowers, this is not only good for the body but also good for your mind’s well-being! It gives little ones a chance to experience new activities and develop sensory skills. We’ve done some daydreaming and we’ve listed some of our favourite outdoor activities to do with kids.
Introducing your little ones to nature can be done gradually. Creating a simple bird feeder for the feathered friends and placing outside a window or balcony can be a great way to watch nature fly by! Butterfly feeders can be made from fruit or sugar water and this simple pinecone bird feeder is always a favourite.
Growing vegetables and spices in your garden are another way to spending a relaxing fun weekend with your children. When you are looking at which plants to grow with children, it can be fun to think about the plants your children will enjoy most! Selecting plants with larger seeds are easier for small hands to handle. Little one’s love plants that have strong smells, grow quickly and are recognizable. Sunflowers, peas, Coriander, pumpkins, and squash all meet these criteria. Planting crops that vary in texture from smooth to fuzzy to prickly can also be very fun for little ones to experiment with.
- Select the seeds you want to grow in your garden.
- Take 5 grams of Planta Grow for 5 grams of seeds (5 sunflower seeds)
- Add 2 drops of water in Planta Grow powder to make a paste of it.
- Add the seeds to the paste & keep it overnight
- Prepare soil mixture (1 mature compost, 1 part garden soil, 1 part builder’s sand or perlite)
- Add soil in the pot and sprinkle / add the seeds on soil. Cover the seeds with thin layer of soil.
- Germination takes 10 days. See your seeds sprouting and enjoy your first plantation.
Planta Grow will boosts the germination and bring the smile on little one’s faces faster.
A miniature garden just for your little ones can be a fun way for them to build their sense of responsibility while creating something beautiful. Their small size makes them perfect for any space – depending on what they include in their garden it could be kept inside or outside! The whole idea of the fairy garden is to keep things small so finding tiny furniture or extra-small shrubs will make this special.
This can be such a great weekend activity for kids of all ages. Taking care plants initiate some good value like Planning the fertilization day, Ownership, and Empathy towards the plants. Fertilizing plants boosts the sense of empathy, it teaches that even plants need nutrition and good diet to grow healthy and happy.
